Pregnancy Physiotherapy

Whilst some women might seem to sail through pregnancy, at least 50% (half!) will experience various levels of pain and problems with their musculoskeletal system.  This can not only affect your enjoyment of your pregnancy, and increase anxiety about your labour but also impact on your home-life, work-life, exercise levels and emotional and mental wellbeing. 

 

Camilla offers effective assessment and treatment of all musculoskeletal problems at any stage of pregnancy in the comfort of your home. She has a wealth of experience in relieving and resolving any pain and physical problems you might be experiencing, allowing you to feel in control of your body again and free to enjoy your pregnancy and return to the activities you love doing. As well as ensuring you and your body are prepared for your delivery and early motherhood. 

Pregnancy symptoms treated:

  • Back, neck and shoulder/ shoulder blade pain

  • Pelvic girdle pain - Sacroiliac pain/ symphysis pubis dysfunction (SPD)

  • coccyx (tailbone) pain

  • Sciatica (neural leg pain)

  • Rib pain

  • Diastasis recti / Rectus Abdominus Divarification (separated tummy muscles) 

  • Carpal tunnel syndrome (pain/ pins and needles in hands) 

  • Wrist pain

  • Pelvic floor weakness

  • Bladder or bowel problems - such as incontinence or constipation

  • Vulvodynia and/or Vaginismus

  • Pelvic organ prolapse

  • General exercise advice and individualized exercise programmes

  • Lifestyle advice regarding bladder/bowel management
  • Individualised pelvic floor muscle training

  • Education and support regarding perineal massage

  • Birth preparation

  • Liaison with other healthcare professionals/ fitness professionals involved in your treatment (at your request)
