Camilla is a Chartered Women’s Health Physiotherapist with extensive clinical and teaching experience. She has worked as a physio since graduating in 2003 and as a specialist Women’s Health physio since 2006, initially at two large London NHS hospitals, treating women of all ages for pelvic floor related problems and antenatal and postnatal women with varied physical problems and pains.
In 2010 she completed a Masters-level Post-graduate qualification in Women's Health physiotherapy (with distinction) and moved to SIX Physio, a top private Physio Company in London. Here she set up and ran their Women's Health service, which over the following 12 years she expanded into the largest and one of the most highly regarded private Pelvic Health teams in London - employing and managing 13 specialist physios across twelve London clinics. She now lives with her family near the Hampshire/ Wiltshire border and set up 'Camilla Lawrence Physio' in 2022 to provide women in the Test Valley area easy access to excellent specialist physio care.
Camilla loves her work and has extensive knowledge of the physical changes that occur throughout a women's lifetime - during pregnancy, the postnatal period and through the menopause - and also the professional expertise and skills of how to reduce many of the the unwanted physical symptoms that often present during these times. She is a qualified Acupuncturist and Pilates instructor and uses these skills to enhance her treatments. She offers a professional and empathetic service, always careful to ensure patients feel at ease whilst managing often complicated and sensitive conditions with strict confidentiality.
As well as enjoying helping her patients resolve their problems and return to a full, active life, she is a highly regarded teacher; she regularly lectures on pregnancy Yoga and Pilates teacher training courses, has spoken at Physiotherapy Conferences and has successfully trained numerous general physiotherapists to become specialists in the field of Women’s Health. She is a full member of the Association of Pelvic, Obstetric and Gynaecological Physiotherapists (POGP). She is part of their National Conference Organising Team, and tutors on one of their Post-Graduate Pelvic Floor training courses. She was an Antenatal teacher on ‘The Bump Class’ (a highly regarded private Antenatal Class program in London) for 8 years, and has contributed to their published book: The Bump Class: An Expert Guide to Pregnancy, Birth and Beyond. She now teaches for 'Happy Parents Happy Baby' Online Antenatal Classes.
When not at work, Camilla is kept busy by her 2 little boys and mad spaniel and enjoys yoga, Pilates, skiing and new-found love of wild swimming.
